As you may know the 8th of March is the International Women’s Day, called Festa della Donna in Italy. In Roman times March 8 was a sacred day to celebrate Ariadne, a sort of prototype of Mediterranean women.
In Italy usually men celebrate women with the traditional gift of a yellow mimosa bouquet. Once intended to be a day when women could claim their freedom, emancipation and political rights, today the International Women’s Day is an important date where women can meet and strenghten their collective identity.
